keto
low carb
no fast food
less sugar, junk food
no fried foods or very little fried food.
cutting carbs, eating a low carb diet is where its at. You don't need to cut all the carbs out, you just have to do low carbs, watch how much and what you eat. I did keto and the first month I didn't do any carbs and lost ten pounds, but as a chef it is hard to not eat carbs while I am at work. Therefore, I decided to do  low carb at work and no carb at home. I do better at home and when I cook at home I usually don't cook any carbs. Although, I do drink beer at times, along with wine and whiskey but I drink lowest carb beer.

people think they need to cut out all of certain foods to lose weight and eat healthier. But if you just cut your carbs down, don't eat fast food, and limit your fried foods then you will lose. I eat healthy, I do not eat processed and fast food, and do some type of exercise/yard work, etc.

prepped meals for your work days, healthy shakes instead of hitting the fast food breakfast, or something fast and unhealthy.

eating healthy VS. "fad" diets

With all the diets out there,
pressure to look a certain way, the best way to  lose weight and be healthy is to eat a balanced meal and healthy snacks then some type of exercise. Most of the "fad" diets happening now are not permanent and will not keep the weight off unless you keep on the diet for rest of your life, but who wants to restrict themselves to certain foods? Not me. I want to be able to have some ice cream or pizza once in awhile.
I cook a lot at home, balanced meals and prepare meals for work as well.
I try to stay away from the fast food and processed foods, limit my sugar intake. I do not really omit anything aside from the fast food. We all get that sweet tooth from time to time. Moderation is key, portion control, working out. I have an elliptical and weights and I also do yard work.
I do struggle at work at times, as  I work 12 hour shifts (night/3rd shift) and sometimes I tend to eat junk and have a soda. But I try to limit to only one soda a shift for the caffeine.
It does take longer to lose the weight the I do it, but I am healthier than some and I keep striving to eat better and healthier along with workout more as I once did.
Being a woman in her late 40s plays a factor in weight loss/gain too; it is harder. But it is not impossible!

cooking is art
cooking can be easy as pie
cooking professionally is not for everyone.
I've been cooking all my life and it is my passion,
I love cooking for others, pleasing their taste buds.
